Charities

For 2017/18, the Club Charity is  Above & Beyond

The mission of Above & Beyond is to make a real difference to patients, their families and the staff who treat them in Bristol city centre hospitals. These are the Bristol Royal Infirmary, the Bristol Heart Institute, the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre, the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, the Bristol Eye Hospital, St Michael’s Hospital, the Bristol Dental Hospital and the South Bristol Community Hospital. They fundraise to:

  1. Create welcoming environments.
  2. Provide state of the art equipment.
  3. Fund innovative research.
  4. Support staff training and development.

Westbury Scottish Club (Bristol)’s fundraising efforts continue throughout the year. They include raffles, sales of goods made by members, donations, the proceeds of our Charity Dance in July (which is always very well supported) and, possibly, some sponsored events. A cheque for the total raised is then presented to a Charity representative who is invited to attend all or part of the Charity Dance.
